Basic Body Piercing Tips On How To Heal An Infected Navel Piercing

Guess what happened?! My new cute belly button piercing got an infection. At first I did not know what to do about how to heal it, but than I watched this great video. The video informed me how to treat it. There was some great tips I wanted to share with you since now you have a navel ring.

The absolute first thing you need to do when you see signs of infection is go back to the professional that did your piercing and ask for their advice on how to treat it. They will first suggest that it might be just irritated or you might be having an allergic reaction. If this is the case of the infection, the treatment is simple. All you have to do is change the way you clean your belly button ring. If it’s an allergic reaction then all you need to do is simply change the body jewelry.

However, if the piercing is showing signs of an infection then the professional will recommend you to see your family doctor.

Most likely your doctor will prescribe either a external antibiotic (which is a cream) or internal antibiotic (taking medicine).

The best treatment you can do right away is soaking your navel ring in sea salt water. How you can do that is take a cup of warm water and some sea salt. Let the sea salt dissolve in the water. (Do NOT use table salt because of the iodine which will cause irritation to your navel ring.) Okay after making the salt solution, bend over or sit and place the cup against your navel to create a vacuum. Keep pressing it on that area for ten to fifteen minutes. You need to do this at least three times a day for the best results.

This solution helps loosen the bad bacteria out. So, doing the sea salt solution a few timesĀ  a day and taking the medicine your doctor prescribe you will most likely see the healing process, if not please go see your doctor again. Good luck and I hope I helped.
